marquis de La Fayette vs Marquis de La Fayette
Which is correct? As it is a title I would have assumed the latter to be correct, however my knowlege of French nobility is rusty. Regards, --Cameron* 20:05, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry I may not have been clear enough. I was asking about the capitalisation of Marquis. Best, --Cameron* 21:14, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
TfD nomination of Template:A B Spellings

- I wanted to add that I was rather impressed by your use of variable and formatting at the A B Spellings template, it was years beyond what most editors were doing at the time. Also your directions are more concise than most of our templates, feel free to drop by Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace or Template talk:Tmbox sometime. Status
I have added status indicators to coordinators on the Wikipedia:Spotlight/Participants page and wondered if you might consider creating a Special:Mypage/Status page and adapting the parser functions on the participant list to suit. Thanks...... Dendodge .. TalkContribs 20:58, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

RE:Just a hello
Just got back about half a week ago from a 3 month break myself, actually. Dropped the negroid debate as soon as I saw it was in the hands of some admins, since I had no personal interest in it, just an interest in stopping the absurd irrationality I saw there.
As for what I've been doing recently, I've completely rewritten and expanded Vinland Saga (manga) in the last couple days. It's waiting on a Good Article review right now, so I'm currently doing a bunch of WP:GAN reviews in hopes that someone will get to my nomination sometime before the end of next month. --erachima talk 04:24, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, a large part of the GA reviewer's job is making sure the article is accessible to layman readers, so we prefer reviewers not be too familiar with the material. I'll admit that it does make it a bit hard to assess the article for completeness, but that's the editor's job, not the reviewer's, and I generally just assume it was complete if I don't have any glaring questions at the end and the article was well-written otherwise. I would encourage you to review something, since the WP:GAN backlog is positively obscene right now. 200+ pages, some of them having gone over a month unreviewed. If nothing else, find an article that you can see at a glance doesn't qualify, and fail it to get it off the list.
- I can sympathize with the school bit, though in my case I don't head back until the tail end of September. I'm using Wikipedia editing to fill the time until then, since I came home for the summer to help my family move and, now that they're done moving, I don't have a job for the next month. --erachima talk 05:13, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
RfA
Hey, just to make clear; what off-site wiki was it you were editing? You might want to clarify that on your RfA. Thanks.Ironholds 21:40, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

re: Please be careful
I did try to find a mention of the relevant line on the talk page before I reverted, but couldn't find any. Could you point me to the discussion in question? Thanks! --ThaddeusB (talk) 20:53, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
- Talk:Sarah Palin#Moose! doesn't specifically mention the 3am line and most everyone seems to be talking about the moose burgers line as it is referenced specifically several times. I don't really care much about either line, but personally they both seem to add *something* to the article. I mean the first one shows a certain dedication and such and the second forms a picture of who she is. In any case, I don't see how the talk can justify the removal of first line since it isn't at all clear that anyone realized that is what you were talking about.

Re:Review
Thanks for the review. I will see about using edit summaries more often, though I believe not every edit needs one. Yes, a few of my mainspage edits are templated, but they are basically stub creations, with a cited source. <bragging>However, they are not my only mainspace work. On the Nepal side, I rewrote Sandhikharka from a stub to a decent C-class article and a DYK. In fact, I have 46 of them, and I plan to pursue updating that section if I become an admin. I am also involved in the FA/GA area. I rewrote Lazare Ponticelli from a stub to an FA. Mary Meader, 1992 Nicaragua earthquake, Hell's Gate National Park, 2002 Bou'in-Zahra earthquake, Félix Houphouët-Boigny (collaboration with User:Nishkid64), and Jean-Hilaire Aubame are the GAs that I wrote/rewrote/collaborated on. 2002 Bou'in-Zahra and 1964 Gabon coup d'etat, both of which I created, are at FAC.</bragging> Anyway, thank you for your suggestions! --I'm an Editorofthewiki[citation needed] 10:50, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:WebKitss.png)
Thanks for uploading Image:WebKitss.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:27, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
Safari screenshot
There are a number of problems with your screenshot.
Your screenshot is of a web browser. WebKit is not a web browser. Given that WebKit is used as the layout engine in a number of very different platforms, giving a screenshot of one possible platform is not really helpful.
The ratio of width to height of your screenshot is messed up. The width and height appear to have been changed independently of each other.
Normally screenshots of web browsers should show the Wikipedia front page (see Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, etc). Your screenshot doesn't.
If we wanted to show a screenshot of Safari on this page there are already a number of Safari screenshots available.

- Please read http://webkit.org/blog/101/back-to-basics/ if you don't believe me that your screenshot is of Safari. AlistairMcMillan (talk) 02:27, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
