Adelaide Wyrzynski is an Australian soccer player who plays as a forward for Tarleton State University in the United States. She has played in Australia's National Premier Leagues (NPL) and has been selected for multiple Australian youth national teams.Adelaide was part of the Commbank Junior Matilda squad of 2022 which won the AFF U18 Women's Championship in Palembang, Indonesia.
Early life and youth career
[edit]Adelaide was born in Australia and attended Westfields Sports High School, a specialist sports school in Sydney. She was selected to join the FC Barcelona Escola Academy in Sydney and later represented Football NSW Institute (FNSW) in the NPL Women’s First Grade competition.
Club career
[edit]In 2023, Adelaide was a contracted train-on player for Liberty A-League with Western Sydney Wanderers FC. She has also played for Mt Druitt Town Rangers in the National Premier Leagues NSW Women's 2 competition, contributing to the team's matches in the 2025 season.[1]
College career
[edit]In 2024, Adelaide began attending Tarleton State University in Texas on a 100% soccer scholarship, playing as a right wing forward for the Tarleton Texans in NCAA Division 1. She scored two goals during the preseason and regular competition. Adelaide was named to the All-Western Athletic Conference Freshman Team and earned Academic Dean’s List honors in Fall 2024 for the College of Health Science.[2]
International career
[edit]Adelaide has been involved with multiple Australian youth national teams. She was selected for the Junior Matildas U17 training camps in Wollongong and Brisbane in 2022, and represented Australia as a right wing and centre forward at the AFF U18 Women's Championship in Palembang, Indonesia, where the squad went undefeated.[3] She also participated for one day in the U20 Young Matildas Four Nations Tournament in Canberra in November 2022.
In 2023, Adelaide was selected for the National Talent Championship in Victoria and scored multiple goals in school-level representative competitions.
She was the sole Australian trialist for the Japanese club Nojima Stella Kanagawa Sagamihara Women’s Football Club.[4]
She is also a strong supporter and advocate for the Deaf Football Australia Women’s Team. In 2024, Adelaide participated in a historic international friendly against the U.S. Deaf National Team in the United States.[5]
