Chapter 2 is a French film production company that was founded by Dimitri Rassam.
In January 2014, Chapter 2 alongside its founder Dimitri Rassam announced the merger of Rassam's production company Chapter 2 with Aton Soumache's French animation studio Method Animation along their feature animation subsidiary Onyx Films (including its post-production & CGI feature studio Onyx Lux) to create a new leading animation and film audiovisual production group named ON Entertainment as Chapter 2 became a subsidiary of ON Entertainment and became ON Entertainment's live-action film production label as its main focus on live-action movies.[1][2][3]
In December 2017, Mediawan a European-based French special-acquisition company was in exclusive talks to buy a majority stake of Chapter 2's parent ON Entertainment alongside with its animation label Method Animation under the latter's ON Kids & Family division alongside their feature film division ON Animation Studios, their post-production & CGI feature studio Onyx Lux and their Montreal-based feature animation production studio for about €50 million in order for Mediawan to enter the animation and feature film business.[4][5][6] A year later in June 2018, Mediawan announced they've completed their acquisition of a majority stake in Chapter 2's parent company ON Entertainment and had it renamed to ON Kids & Family after their division with Chapter 2 moved under Mediawan's portfolio.[7]
