Dramamama is an Estonian blues rock band formed in 2008 with the aim of introducing a more rock and roll sound to the then-pop-heavy Estonian music scene. The band was founded by Mikk Tammepõld (vocals), Laur Joamets (guitar), and Viljar Norman (bass). They have released four studio albums: Dramamama (2009), VIP (2012), and Uphill Battle (2020) and Doomsday Tango (2022).

Dramamama's sound is rooted in the blues rock of the 1960s and 70s, but they also incorporate elements of punk and ballads. The band has performed extensively in Estonia, including opening for bands like Rival Sons and Von Hertzen Brothers.

Biography:

Founded in 2008 by Mikk Tammepõld, Viljar Norman & Laur Joamets, Dramamama sought to bring a rock and roll energy to the Estonian music landscape, which was dominated by pop music. Their music blends blues rock influences with punk and softer ballads.

Band Members: Dramamama has experienced lineup changes over time. The current lineup, as of 2025, features Mikk Tammepõld (vocals, guitars), Jörgen Pakkas (guitars), Viljar Norman (bass), and Kristjan Mängel (drums). Previously, the band included Laur Joamets on lead guitar and drummers Kristjan Kallas, Ott Adamson & Jeremia Kangas on drums. Laur Joamets is also known in country music circles as Lil' Joe and has played with Sturgill Simpson's band.

Dramamama's latest album to date "Doomsday Tango" is considered their most conceptual work. It's exploring themes of societal indifference and impending doom, culminating in a metaphorical "tango" just before the end. The album was released on October 12, 2022. The title track, "Doomsday Tango," captures this mood of playful abandon amidst impending doom.
