Ghost Robotics is a company based in Philadelphia that produces robotic four-legged dogs similar to Boston Dynamics. In July 2024, the Korean aerospace and defense company LIG Nex1 acquired the majority of shares of the company.[1]

History

Ghost Robotics was founded in 2014 by Avik De and Gavin Kenneally. According to the company's website, they have shipped over 1000 robots and have worked with more than 25 national security partners.[2]

Controversies

In 2022, Boston Dynamics sued Ghost Robotics for allegedly infringing on seven patents related to the former’s Spot quadruped robot. The case was settled in January 2025.[3]

Ghost Robotics have been the subject of pro-Palestinian protests and have moved offices because of protestors.[4]
