Invincible VS is an upcoming fighting video game developed by Quarter Up and published by Skybound Games. it is based on Image Comics' Invincible comic book series and its animated television series adaptation. The game is set to release in 2026 for Windows, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S.
Gameplay
[edit]Invincible VS is a fighting game based around teams of three characters, which players can tag between during battle.[2] Players will be able to perform an "active tag", switching characters in the middle of a combo to continue attacking.[2] Players can also perform a "counter tag", allowing them to escape a combo during an active tag if performed correctly.[2] The game includes a cinematic story mode, along with arcade and training modes.[3] The game will support local and online multiplayer with rollback netcode.[2]
Characters
[edit]Seven playable characters have been announced for inclusion, with additional characters expected to be announced leading up to release.
Development and release
[edit]Invincible VS is the first game developed by Quarter Up, a studio founded by several members of the development team behind Killer Instinct (2013).[5] Quarter Up is the first in-house development studio under publisher Skybound Games.[3] Members of the animated series' voice cast reprise their roles for the game, including Steven Yeun as Invincible and J.K. Simmons as Omni-Man.[6]
The game was announced on June 8, 2025 during the Xbox Summer Showcase livestream.[7] It is currently scheduled for a 2026 release on Windows, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S.[8]
