Encyclopedia articles need to be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources, not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed. This is important so that the article can meet Wikipedia's verifiability policy and the notability of the subject can be established. If you still feel that this subject is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, please rewrite your submission to comply with these policies.

Kentico is a content management system (CMS) and digital experience platform (DXP) developed by Kentico Software, a company headquartered in Brno, Czech Republic. The software is built on .NET using the ASP.NET Core framework and can be deployed on-premises or in cloud environments, including Microsoft Azure.
History
[edit]Kentico Software was founded in 2004 by Petr Palas in Brno.[1] It began as a one-person operation and later expanded internationally as a provider of CMS and DXP technologies. CMS Critic reports that Kentico has a partner network of over 500 digital agencies and powers more than 90,000 websites.[2]
In 2020, the company introduced a dual-platform strategy:
- Kentico Xperience, combining CMS and marketing features with support for traditional and headless delivery
- Kontent by Kentico, a headless CMS focused on structured content and API-first workflows[3]
In 2022, the two products became the focus of separate companies:
- Kentico Software s.r.o. for Kentico Xperience
- Kontent.ai s.r.o. for the headless CMS[4]
Dominik Pinter, who joined Kentico in 2007, was appointed CEO in July 2022.[5]
Kentico has held industry conferences, such as Kentico Connection, which has been covered in technology publications.[6]
Product
[edit]Overview
[edit]Kentico's main product, Xperience by Kentico, was launched in 2023 following a testing phase known as the Xperience Adopters Program.[7] The release added a modular architecture that can be run in both traditional and headless configurations.[8] According to CMS Critic, Kentico Xperience supports hybrid headless deployment for both websites and other digital channels.[9]
A CMSWire review of the platform highlights features such as campaign automation, content modeling, and support for multichannel content, noting their relevance in an increasingly complex martech landscape.[10]
In 2024 the company introduced AIRA, which technology publication CMOtech describes as “an AI-powered marketing tool.”[11]
The platform has been used in various industries; for example, in 2024, German football club 1. FSV Mainz 05 launched a new website using its hybrid headless features.[9]
Releases
[edit]Xperience by Kentico follows a staged release model consisting of monthly refreshes and weekly hotfixes. Refreshes are published roughly once a month and introduce new features, while weekly hotfixes address bugs and security issues. Updates are cumulative and can be applied selectively.[12]
A full changelog is maintained in the official documentation, and upcoming features are listed on the public product roadmap.
Reception
[edit]In 2025, Kentico was included as a Niche Player in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Digital Experience Platforms. According to CX Today’s summary of the report, Gartner highlighted Kentico’s “platform vision” and “strong growth” in targeting midsize organizations.[13] In 2024, Kentico was ranked as a "Leader" in G2’s Digital Experience Platform (DXP) Grid Report, based on customer satisfaction and market presence.[14]
