Northern Credit Union is credit union primarily focused based in Northern Ontario, with more than 70,000 members with total assets under administration of over $1.8 billion. Northern offers banking, wealth management, credit products and services through 26 branches.
Northern Credit Union was originally founded as Sault Civic Employees Credit Union in 1957 and has continued to grow through mergers with other smaller credit unions such as CPR Employees Credit Union and Valley Savings Credit Union among others.
Effective Jan 1, 2025 Copperfin Credit Union and Northern Credit Union have merged and will do business as Northern Credit Union.
