Orders from Above is a 2021 Australian historical drama film written, directed and produced by Vir Srinivas.[1] Set in Israel, 1960, the film tells the story of Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann's interrogation by police captain Avner Less.[2] It won the grand prize at the Melbourne Underground Film Festival as well as several other international awards.[3][4] The film was distributed by Gravitas Ventures, releasing on VOD on July 19, 2022.
Plot
[edit]After the end of the Second World War, Adolf Eichmann, branded an architect of the Final Solution, evaded capture from the Allies for 15 years. Living under a false identity in Argentina, Eichmann is finally abducted by Mossad and brought to Israel to await trial. Without enough evidence to prosecute him, Police Captain Avner Less must extract a confession from the mastermind of the Holocaust.[5]
