Pierre Lahoud is a dentist and researcher specializing in periodontology, muco-gingival and implant surgery, as well as advanced medical imaging.[1] He holds a Doctorate in Dental Surgery and completed postgraduate training in advanced medical imaging.[2] Lahoud conducted pre-doctoral and doctoral research at the OMFS-IMPATH Research Group at KU Leuven and is currently a Guest Professor at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich.[3][4] His doctoral supervisors included Prof. Dr. Reinhilde Jacobs (KU Leuven), Em. Prof. Dr. Marc Quirynen (KU Leuven), Prof. Dr. Michael Bornstein (University of Basel) and Dr. Mostafa EzEldeen (KU Leuven). He has published over 30 peer-reviews international scientific publications[5] and lectures nationally and internationally on topics including Digital Dentistry, Periodontology, Implantology, Artificial Intelligence and Personalized Denistry[6][7][8] His research focuses on AI-assisted planning for oral and maxillofacial surgeries, as well as topics in periodontology and implantology. He was awarded many national and international prizes including the First Prize in the IADMFR Maxillofacial Research Award in 2021 (Gwangju, South Korea) and is a co-recipient of the Journal of Endodontics Award in the category of Regenerative Endodontics (2022, Chicago, USA).[1]
