Scott Bridger is an Australian chef and restaurateur based in Perth, Western Australia. He is the Executive Chef and co-owner of Bib & Tucker, a coastal restaurant in North Fremantle focused on seasonal, locally sourced produce and wood-fired cooking.[1] He is also a co-founder of other Perth-based hospitality venues, including May Street Larder and Pogo.[2]

Bridger’s culinary experience includes work in commercial kitchens across London, Japan, the Middle East, Europe, and the Caribbean.[3] After returning to Australia in 2011, he served as Sous Chef at Rockpool Bar & Grill in Perth. In 2013, he co-founded Bib & Tucker with business partners, including former Olympic swimmer Eamon Sullivan.[4]

Bridger’s culinary approach includes emphasis on sustainability, bold flavours, and Western Australian produce. He has participated in regional events, including the Shore Leave Festival in Geraldton, contributing to initiatives such as the Abrolhos Long Table Lunch and the Mid West Paddock to Plate.[5] He is also involved in the Plating Up WA campaign, which promotes local produce and hospitality across Western Australia.[6]

Chef Liaison and Industry Advocate

[edit]

Since 2024, Bridger has served as the chef liaison for the annual *Plating Up WA* campaign. This role involves connecting chefs and producers to promote Western Australian ingredients and culinary talent.[7]

The campaign, coordinated by Buy West Eat Best, runs during the winter months to support the local hospitality and tourism sectors. Since 2018, it has included over 300 venues each year.[8] It facilitates the creation of seasonal menus by connecting chefs with local producers and encourages public engagement with regional cuisine. In 2024, the campaign recorded over 18,000 unique website visitors and generated more than three million social media impressions.[9]

Media appearances

[edit]

Bridger has appeared on the television series Our State on a Plate, produced by Guru Productions, where he highlights local producers and regional cuisine.[10] His media work supports his advocacy for Western Australian ingredients and sustainable food systems.
