Sharif Linux is name of Iranian bilingual language (Persian/English) Linux distribution that was created by FarsiWeb Sharif Company according to native needs of Iranian and Persian-speaking users, After going through the testing stages of the trial versions, it was officially introduced and unveiled at Sharif University of Technology on June 27, 2006.

Development and support for this distribution has been discontinued.

Version 2 of this distribution was based on the 4th release of the Fedora distribution[1] and included applications including Firefox 1, Linux kernel 2.6.16, and OpenOffice 2[2].

This distribution used version 2 of the GNOME desktop environment, 76.48% of which was translated into Persian.
