Comment: Most of the sources do not meet the above four criteria. Blogs are not reliable, press releases or what they say about themselves are primary sources and not independent, some of the sources make no mention of the software while others are brief mentions. If there are qualifying sources, they are downed out by all the poor ones. Also, parts of this is written like marketing copy. S0091 (talk) 17:21, 23 April 2025 (UTC)

VWO, formerly Visual Website Optimizer, is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) customer experience optimization platform developed by Wingify Software Pvt. Ltd. As such, it enables businesses to identify changes to their various application frameworks (websites, mobile apps, tablets, and interactive kiosks) that will convert visitors or users to paying customers, i.e., landing page or conversion rate optimization (CRO). VWO enables client businesses to analyze the experiences of visitors to their websites or users of their mobile apps to assess the effect possible changes to these have on CRO.
Wingify Software Pvt. Ltd., VWO's developer, was founded in 2010 by Paras Chopra and Sparsh Gupta and is headquartered in New Delhi. Initially, VWO was a ‘no-coding required’ A/B testing tool but has since evolved into a fully featured conversion optimization platform.VWO numbers Google, Drupal, Decathlon, Disney, Amway, Cigna, DoorDash, UNICEF, and Ubisoft among its current clients.[1] VWO is integrated with the platforms of 40 other businesses providing experimentation and conversion optimization services[2] including Google Analytics 4,[1] Acquia digital experience platform DXP,[3] HubSpot's Comprehensive Experimentation Platform,[4] and Twilio Segment.[5]
Development
[edit]VWO's creator and Wingify founder Paras Chopra, a gold medalist from Delhi College of Engineering with a background in machine learning, began marketing the initial version, then only an A/B testing software, in early 2010. Prior to that during 2009, Chopra gave away a free version to select users in order to obtain feedback with which to improve it and began selling a beta version in 2010.[6] Initial users included Microsoft, Rackspace Technology, and Vendio .[7] In 2014, Wingify's acquisition of Feedback, a 27,000-member community of web design and user experience (UX) experts, added significant expertise in these areas for incorporation into VWO.[8]
In 2014, Wingify released a version of VWO that was accessible to nonprogrammers, e.g., members of an organization's marketing team or product managers, could use.[9]
In 2015, Wingify's acquisition of US-based Navilytics, a visitor analytics solution, added such new capabilities to VWO as heat maps, click maps, scroll maps, visitor session recordings, and form analysis, all in a single integrated package. Navilytics's acquisition was cited as marking a significant milestone "in [VWO's] transformation from first a ‘no-coding required’ A/B testing tool in 2010 to the first full-featured conversion optimization platform globally."[10] In 2019, Bayesian statistical analysis was added to VWO's A/B testing tool.[11]
In 2022, Wingify launched VWO Data360, its custom AI data platform dedicated to providing users a '360-degree look' at their customers.[12]
In 2023, when Google announced that it was discontinuing Google Optimize and Optimize 360, Wingify offered Optimize users a free starter plan and special discounts. Included were agencies that had relied on Optimize to run conversion rate optimization (CRO) analyses for their own clients.[13] To replace Optimize, Google began offering a seamless integration between VWO and Google Analytics 4 (GA4), making URL splitting and A/B testing a standard part of GA4 available across different use cases in Google Ads, retargeting, and any other application of standard GA4.[1]
In 2024, Wingify entered into a strategic partnership with Acquia to incorporate VWO into the services it offered clients.[14] Also in 2024, Wingify introduced two new platforms: VWO Copilot, an AI-powered facility to aid clients in "streamlin[ing] and automat[ing] various aspects of the conversion rate optimization (CRO) process"[15] and VWO Feature Management & Experimentation (FME), which was .
