Helene Colgan (1966-1989) was one of 14 women killed in an anti-feminist massacre at the Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal, an engineering school affiliated with the University of Montreal, on December 6, 1989. 23 years old at the time of her death, Helene was only a semester away from graduating with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. She planned to pursue a master's degree at some point in the future, and she had already received several job offers for after graduation.
