A: The most general hypothesis (G) that matches everything (?,?,?....) B: Negative examples “push it down” by specialising the hypotheses in G. C: Positive examples prune the G set. D: Eventually the general hypotheses and the specific hypothesis converge. E: Negative examples prune the specific set (before the new hypothesis becomes the specific hypothesis) F: Positive examples generalise the specific hypothesis.

G: The most specific hypothesis, starts as (0,0,0....)
