Trochilocharax ornatus (hummingbird tetra) is a species of characin endemic to Peru.[2] This species is the only member of the genus Trochilocharax[3] and its subfamily, Trochilocharacinae.

It is a small fish, reaching only 17 mm (0.67 in) SL.[2][4]
