[edit]

Though born in County Antrim, McClellan moved south to County Louth when she was a young girl and attended school near Dundalk.[citation needed] McClellan was the playmaker for the Darver team defeated in the Leinster Intermediate final.[citation needed] But she bounced back again to win a Leinster Intermediate medal the following year.[citation needed]
