Tulu General Entertainment Channels (GECs) refer to television and digital platforms broadcasting content in the Tulu language, a Dravidian language spoken predominantly in the Tulu Nadu region of coastal Karnataka and parts of northern Kerala in India. Despite Tulu’s rich cultural heritage, its presence in mainstream media has been limited. However, recent years have seen growth in Tulu-language television and digital content.
History
[edit]Tulu-language programs initially appeared as segments on Kannada or multilingual channels. Over time, increasing demand for content in Tulu led to the emergence of dedicated regional channels and digital platforms.
