Personal quotes
" it’s become friendlier I think, more supportive. If someone is new and good it’s easier for them now to advance through the ranks with more experienced comics like Alfie Joey, Mick Ferry and Anvil Springsteen offering their recommendations to bookers ".
On how much the Manchester Comedy Scene has changed [1]
" I think the only problem with some acts on the current circuit are their hang ups about Stand Up as an Art from, or what subjects they shouldn’t cover, or how to push boundaries. But really we are primarily entertainers and our job is to make people laugh, if you make them think as well then that’s a bonus ".
On attitudes within the ever changing comedy circuit [2]
" Well let’s look at the clues, I’m from Manchester, I’m not a spoilt nobhead, I actually go to the games. Why it’s City of course! "
On being quizzed whether he is a Man City or Man UTD supporter [3]
Trivia
- Is a supporter of Manchester City Football Club
- On the 6th of July broadcast episode of 8 out of 10 Cats, Manford claimed to have punched well known daytime TV host Jeremy Kyle in the face for being rude to someone on the phone. (Note: This was not to be taken seriously- it was simply relevant to the jokey banter of the show)
