Pington Comic (平旦漫画) is a Malaysian comic series created by Heng Teik Chee, first published in 1997. It has since become one of the most popular leisure reads among teenagers in Malaysia.
Pington Comic tells the story of four main characters; Pington, Spitty, Sampat-Kia, and Jenny, and their bizarre yet hilarious daily lives. In its early stages of the series, Pington was the only male protagonist. However, under the suggestions of Heng Teik Chee's friends, Spitty, Sampat-Kia, and Jenny were gradually introduced. Some supporting characters, such as the teachers and the school principal, were also made appearances in later chapters, creating more absurd and humorous twists to the story.[1]
