The Zenfone 12 Ultra is a smartphone developed and marketed by ASUS, released on February 6 2025.[1] The device is the second AI phone in the company's mainstream Zenfone product lline, succeeding the Zenfone 11 Ultra. It is marketed for its AI features and camera capabilities as the slogan - AI, Snap in Style - stated. Running on the Android 15 operation system and supporting 5G connectivity, the Zenfone 12 Ultra is powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon® 8 Elite processor.

History

On February 1, just five days before the official launch of Zenfone 12 Ultra, the specs and images were leaked by WinFuture, a Germany-based online tech publication. This article even stated that Zenfone 12 Ultra would be a "slightly stripped-down version of the ASUS ROG Phone 9 Pro."[2] Another technology news website, Android Police, also stated the same by publishing an article "The ASUS Zenfone 12 Ultra is basically an ROG Phone 9 Pro" on the same day of the official launch.[3] At the time, ASUS did not respond.

On the same day of its launch day (February 6, 2025), the Zenfone 12 Ultra was immediately available in Europe (except for UK), Taiwan and Hong Kong.[4] Later this year (2025), it is also available in Japan on May 30.[5]
