The Palladium Global Science Award (PGSA) is an international competition established in 2025 to identify and support scientific and applied concepts, as well as research and development aimed at creating palladium-based materials. These developments could lead to new industrial applications of palladium and the development of the technologies of the future.[1][2]
Organization and partners
[edit]The China Precious Metals Industry Committee (CPMIC) is the main partner of the competition. Bian Jiang, Executive Chairman of the CPMIC, emphasized the importance of palladium for the development of many industries, including the high-tech and green industries, as well as the need to support scientists and research groups working on innovations in this field.[3]

Nominations and prize fund
[edit]The competition includes the following categories of new palladium applications: best scientific development, best scientific article, best applied concept.[2]
The total prize fund is $350,000. It is distributed as follows: Best Scientific Development (1st place - $120,000, 2nd place - $60,000), Best Scientific Article (1st place - $80,000, 2nd place - $40,000), Best Applied Concept (1st place - $50,000).
Applications are evaluated by an international jury of leading scientists and experts from major universities and research centers around the world.[6]

Application process
[edit]The first call for applications opened on 6 March 2025, with a deadline of 31 July 2025. Applications are accepted from scientists, startups and research groups involved in the study, analysis and development of new palladium applications.[1]
