Miah R. White, known as Bishop Miah White, is an American Christian minister, author, and bishop affiliated with the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International (FGBCFI). In 2024, she became the youngest African-American woman to be consecrated as bishop in the fellowship’s history.[1]

Early life and ministry

[edit]

White was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, the youngest daughter of Bishop George White Jr., Th.D., and Lady Sharon White. She began her ministry journey at age 11 through FGBCFI’s youth division and developed as a worship leader under the mentorship of Bishop William Murphy III. Over time, she advanced to regional and national leadership roles in worship, eventually serving as International Overseer of Worship under then-Presiding Bishop Paul S. Morton Sr.[2]

Pastoral leadership

[edit]

In 2014, White succeeded her father as senior pastor of West End Mount Carmel Full Gospel Baptist Church in North St. Louis County. She was one of the youngest African-American women in pastoral leadership in the region. In 2017, she rebranded the church as *The Worship Center STL*, with a focus on intergenerational worship, creative arts, and community outreach.[1]

Episcopal consecration

[edit]

White was consecrated as bishop on July 11, 2024, during FGBCFI’s annual international conference. She was appointed Bishop of Prophetic Development, overseeing training for prophetic ministry leaders. Before her elevation, she served as First Assistant to the FGBCFI Bishop of Worship from 2018 to 2024.[1]

Her consecration also established a historic father-daughter episcopal legacy within the fellowship, following her father's consecration in 1999.

Community engagement and recognition

[edit]

White holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Social Work. She has worked with organizations such as the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis and St. Louis Public Schools, focusing on youth mentorship and educational initiatives.

On August 31, 2024, she was honored with proclamations from both the City of St. Louis and St. Louis County, officially declaring the date “Bishop Miah White Day.” The proclamations cited her historic episcopal appointment and her leadership within the local faith community.[3][4]

Publications and media

[edit]

White is the author of *Watch Your Mouth* (2022), a devotional focused on biblical affirmations and spiritual discipline.[5] She also published *The Work of the Watchman* (2019), a manual on prophetic ministry.

She appeared on The Word Network’s *#YoungPreacher* showcase in 2018 and has been a featured speaker at national conferences including *Woman Thou Art Loosed* and the FGBCFI International Conference. Her sermons and worship clips are widely circulated online.
