Sir Salih bin Ghalib Al‑Qu’aiti was the sultan of the Qu'aiti State or Qu'aiti Sultanate, in modern Yemen from 1935 to 1955 or 1936 to 1956. During his reign a post office affiliated with Aden opened in Mukalla on 22 April 1937[1]. The first stamps inscribed “Qu’aiti State of Shihr and Mukalla” were issued in 1942[1]. He was appointed an Honorary Knight Commander of the Order of St Michael and St George (KCMG) in the 1938 New Year Honours[2]. Sir Salih bin Ghalib Al‑Qu’aiti died in either 1955 or 1956 and was succeeded by his son Awadh II bin Saleh Al‑Qu’aiti.[3]
