It's not about apologizeing, which is great that you were it's just understanding that when you revert make sure your not putting back more Vandalism. I understand it was hard to keep up, I was right there trying to catch it all too. When you remove something that isn't Vandalism though that others keep putting on there it's called edit warring and can be taken as OWNISH behavior.
