B*witched are an Irish girl group comprising of four members. These were:-

- Edele & Keavy Lynch (twin sisters)
- Sinead O' Carroll
- Lindsay Armaou

All girls came from musical families and were accomplished musicians from young ages. A few simple twists of fate brought the four girls together. Sinead wandered into a garage one day where Keavy worked as a part time mechanic and the two girls instantly became friends. Lindsay met up with Keavy at a kickboxing class and just like that, B*witched were born!
The girls all moved into Sinead's flat and recieved great inspiration from the Lynch twins' brother (Shane) who was a member of Boyzone. They soon began writing songs. They did a documentary about the dance studios in which they rehearsed, which brought their attention to a manager. He was impressed enough with them and B*witched had their record contract!
Having been signed to Epic Records, the girls instantly began working on their debut album, entitled B*witched. On the 25th May 1998, they released their debut single, C'est La Vie. It went straight in at No.1 and remained there for 2 weeks. This made them the youngest girl group to reach the top spot. It was a very good time for B*witched to enter the music scene, because Irish acts were receiving tremendous success in the UK at the time, and also with Geri having quite the Spice Girls, and their fame coming to an end, it meant the perfect time for other girl bands to come and take the limelight. C'est La Vie also went Top 10 in the United States.
Their second single, Rollercoaster was released on 21st Sept 1998 and just like its predecessor, went straight in at No.1 and remained there for 2 weeks. After the hype of this song faded, the group released their self titled debut album on October 12th. It reached No.3 in the charts and went triple platinum. Their album has sold 3 million copies worldwide.
On December 7th, the girls released their third single, To You I Belong, from their debut album. Taking a different stance to their other 2 singles, which were more upbeat and bouncy, this one was more serious and emotional. Hoping for it to stay at the top until Christmas, it only managed a week at the top, and was knocked off by the Spice Girls' new single, Goodbye, which in turn became the Christmas No.1 of 1998.
3 months later, on the 8th March, they released their fourth and final single from their debut album, Blame It On The Weatherman. Once again, this was a different type of song and not at all bouncy or uplifting. It became their 4th No.1 single, but like their third, only managed a week at the top. However, B*witched did break a chart record. They were the first ever act to have their first 4 singles enter at No.1. (Though The Spice Girls' first six singles made No.1, not all of them entered at No.1). B*witched's record was eventually broken by Westlife in 2000.
In the ABBA tribute concert of 1999, B*witched got together with some other hot pop acts of the moment including Steps and performed a song called Thank ABBA for the music. It was released a single and climbed to No.4 in the charts. B*witched were truly at the height of popularity after the release of their debut album, but fame is very rarely sustained for a long period of time.
B*witched had already started working on their second album, Awake and Breathe. Expecting the album to be a bigger success than their first, things did not turn out the way they planned. The first single to be released, Jesse Hold On only made No.4. This was a definite disappointment, judging on previous singles and their charting positions.
Nevertheless, the group went ahead and released their second album. They released it very early after Jesse Hold On was released, which could have been the reason for low single sales. However, their fanbase seemed to be decreasing, with this album peaking at only No.5 in the chart and selling a fragment of its predecessor. Trying once again for the Christmas No.1 in 1999, B*witched released a single entitled I Shall Be There. Although it was unlikely anyone could have beaten Westlife's "I Have A Dream" and "Seasons In The Sun" to the top spot, B*witched didnt even make into the Top 10, stalling at No.13. In April of the following year, they made one last attempt by releasing a third single from Awake and Breathe, but it stalled lower than any other single, peaking at a lowly No.16.
B*witched's huge success had come to an end by mid 1999 and they were failing in the charts miserably during mid 2000. Their No.16 release wa s their final release and plans for a third album to be made were scrapped. They officially split in 2002.
Despite only being on the music scene for about 2 years, B*witched will always be remembered for their festive mix of Irish country and mainstream pop and their spirited attitude towards life.
