Mashrakh is a Block of Saran District in the western part of Bihar, India. It is located on the bank of Ghoghari river.it is situated at 40 km from Chhapra and 98 km from state capital patna.There are 17 Panchayats in Mashrakh Block.

Mashrakh is connected by train between Chhapra, Siwan and Gopalganj and by road, which is connected with Chapra, Gopalganj & Siwan. Mashrakh used to be a well-known business hub in Saran commissionaire. The city has a government hospital, veterinary hospital, police station, head post office, T.V transmission center, and a telecommunication technical hub. There are two Inter & Degree colleges in the block - Mashrak College Mashark and Bahadurpur College, Bahadurpur, Mashrak Degree College, Mashrakh. Bhojpuri/Hindi/English is used as a widely spoken language.

Health services at Mashrakh- There are many prominent doctors in Mashrakh.For many remotely located villages in Saran, Siwan and Gopal ganj districts, Mashrakh is an only place where all the health care facilities are available.A primary health care center is situated in Mashrakh.

Prominent doctors -Dr. A. R Ansari (MOIC) Dr.Rajiv Ranjan Dr.Shailendra Kumar Singh Dr.Sitaram Pandey. Dr.H.K.Singh Dr.Gautam Singh Dr. Dinanath Pandit (Homeopathy Medical Officer, Govt. of Bihar), Dr. Harinandan Prasad (Homeopathy).

Railway station- Mashrakh Jn. is situated on Chapra- Thave rail route.This route currently underwent broad gauge conversion, and train is running from 10 January 2017.Another line is Maharajganj-Mashrakh line.

Mashrak has a Kendriya Vidyalaya as well.[1]

There is a cold storage(Shiv Bhavani Cold Storage) in Mashrak near Yaddu More.

Food poisoning

On 16 July 2013, in Dharmashati Gandaman (Jajauli Panchayat) primary school of the block, 23 children were poisoned to death after eating free lunch provided by the school, that had been contaminated with insecticide.[3]
