Biography

Priya Prakash Varrier was born in Punkunnam on 12 September 1999 and was educated at Sandeepani Vidya Nikethan, Thrissur.[7][8]

She played the role of Priya in the 2019 movie Oru Adaar Love, a romantic drama set in a school.[9] The trailer on YouTube, which includes Varrier winking, had received over 97 million views as of April 2020. Her wink was said to have gone viral.[10] The song Manikya Malaraya Poovi from Oru Adaar Love was deemed to be offensive by some Muslims, as the lyrics reference Khadija bint Khuwaylid. A first information report relating to this was filed against Varrier and the film's creators, and subsequently rejected by the Supreme Court of India.[10][11]

In 2019 the song "Nee Mazhavillu Polen," which Varrier sings with Naresh Iyer, was released.[12] She was cast in the Bollywood movie Sridevi Bungalow, which was in production as of January 2020.[13] Outside of acting, Varrier enrolled for a Bachelor of Commerce course at Vimala College, Thrissur.[7]
