Taketomi (竹富町; -chō) is a town located in Yaeyama district, Okinawa, Japan. The town is located on the eponymous island of Taketomi, near Ishigaki, and is known for a well preserved and restored example of a traditional Ryukyu village.

As of 2003, the town has an estimated population of 3,757 and the density of 11.25 persons per km&sup2. The total area is 334.01 km².

It is also famous for the water buffalo tours and beautiful beaches.
