Mustang pics from mustangworld.com - permission?

I note that a lot of the articles on the Ford Mustang page that you've contributed say they're 'uncopyrighted photos from mustangworld.com'. A quick look on that site found nothing that showed that the pictures were PD or free-to-use. Did I miss it? Did you obtain permission specifically? It would be nice to know what the actual status of these were.

Not picking on you specifically, I'm going round and checking the copyright status on articles I've edited - would be nice to have better permission documentation, or at least clear 'fair use' claims.

Some of the pics do look like Ford publicity photos, and these might especially be suitable for a fair use claim, but we should try and attribute when we can. —Morven 23:23, Jul 25, 2004 (UTC)

  • Good point. Those were uploaded fairly early in my "career" here and I assumed that otherwise unpublished snapshots were fair game. If they're copyvios, then by all means delete them. The silver '69 was taken by someone who contributed to the article and the '05 promo shot was there from the get-go when I started working on it. - Lucky 6.9 17:42, 26 Jul 2004 (UTC)
    • I'll leave them up until we can find equivalent photos with no copyright issues. I have a few Mustang pics in my collection and see a lot of Mustangs around here, so I am sure I can take a few if necessary ... —Morven 07:09, Jul 28, 2004 (UTC)

Reminder

Reminding you about checking for the AMC tapes when you can get to it. I watched the 1983 and 1996 episodes again last night. It was really good stuff. I will most definitely be taking screenshots of Cliff and Nina. Mike H 17:47, Jul 26, 2004 (UTC)

  • You got it. They're in a corner of a spare bedroom that I'm using for storage, but I'm about to change it into a den/office. I'll let you know as soon as I find them. - Lucky 6.9 17:49, 26 Jul 2004 (UTC)
    • I wikified Cliff and Nina. I had RickK finish the article for me. I don't know how the Devon bit resolved, though. Someone told me that Devon and Cliff were written out together, but he came back and she didn't. I don't know. Mike H 17:51, Jul 26, 2004 (UTC)
  • You may be right. I'm expecting a call from my wife a little later, and I'm certain she can answer the question. - Lucky 6.9 17:53, 26 Jul 2004 (UTC)
    • I rewrote it and filled in the holes myself. I'm almost certain they're correct. I wrote that Devon left town to be without Cliff, on Ellen's urging. Mike H 18:07, Jul 26, 2004 (UTC)

Konemu and Maraka

I keep deleting them and you keep recreating them when you add the delete template.  :) RickK 22:14, Jul 27, 2004 (UTC)

  • LOL! Sorry 'bout that, pal...but great minds do think alike! - Lucky 6.9 22:17, 27 Jul 2004 (UTC)

B movie boy

B movie boy is back. Check out User:64.252.48.233 . RickK 23:03, Jul 28, 2004 (UTC)

  • Oh, no...just when I was actually doing something constructive on another article. One thing's for certain, though. All of the proxies as of late are from the same provider and this is no exception. The proxy tracer at geektools.com lists it this way: SBC Internet Services - Northeast SNET-CIDR002 (NET-64-252-0-0-1) 64.252.0.0 - 64.252.255.255 PPPoX Pool - MRDNCT Rback7 SBC064252048000020418 (NET-64-252-48-0-1) 64.252.48.0 - 64.252.51.255 Can these all be blocked? - Lucky 6.9 23:10, 28 Jul 2004 (UTC)
    • I have no clue. I still haven't figured out how to do range blocks. RickK 19:03, Jul 29, 2004 (UTC)
  • Seems quiet for now, and the boob only posted one substub this time. I guess we'll just have to wait and see if and when we get more of these. It's the vandal bot substubs that really have me fuming. - Lucky 6.9 21:22, 29 Jul 2004 (UTC)
    • The User:Lucky 6.9 is a user on Wikipedia, and stars Lucky 6.9 from now to present. Mike H 23:05, Jul 29, 2004 (UTC)
  • LOL!! Wow, my very own B-Movie Bandit substub! First my own software, now this! Mike, you're a nut. :^)) - Lucky 6.9 23:18, 29 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Fine

Here I am. First, what was inaccurate about it? --Golbez 04:51, 30 Jul 2004 (UTC)

  • Thank you for answering. First of all, politics had nothing to do with my vote and non-notability had everything to do with it. If you or anyone else can expand this article with verifiable information, I would be more than happy to change my vote. The cutesy "hawt Azn chick" line didn't really help, either. Please feel free to disagree with me, but please do it on this page. Again, thanks. - Lucky 6.9 05:00, 30 Jul 2004 (UTC)
    • I will apologize for being so angry, but you not only insulted a friend (This I will forgive; you did not know she didn't write the article, and, frankly, neither did she. So you had no clue, and I accept that), but me too. Anarchists and computers don't mix? Perhaps you meant this flippantly, but in the context of your comment, I didn't really see it that way. I know politics had nothing to do with your vote, and they had everything to do with your comment. You're right, it was unprofessional and purely emotional. Hence why it happened. FYI, she's not even an Azn chick. :P --Golbez 05:11, 30 Jul 2004 (UTC)
  • I apologize as well for the mix-up and I gladly accept yours. Believe me, everything I say is intended to be a bit off the wall, and I sometimes get called to task for it. Even the "Azn chick" bit, even if she isn't one. Seriously, have a great evening, and please extend my sincere apologies to your friend. - Lucky 6.9 05:30, 30 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Ridge Route, again

Lucky, I'm back after the fires. Excellent job on the Ridge Route article. It shows fine detail to research, for which Wikipedia should strive towards. The touches about the curbing preventing cars from careening off into the canyons and the ruts in the cement portions newly laid at the time are great. Sorry I couldn't have helped you more at the time, but I think you can understand!

My dad and I had a talk lately, and he remembers always having to stop and add water to the radiator of the car (several cars dating from a late 1920's Packard to a 1955 Pontiac) every so often - giving much business to the service stations (remember the term?) along the way at much more frequent intervals than what folks do presently. Perhaps an article on US highway traveling customs/experiences might be a good idea, eh? Just a thought. . . --avnative 17:56, Jul 30, 2004 (UTC)

  • Hey, no problem. Hope the fires passed you by! And, thanks again for the compliment. I've fleshed out the article a bit in an attempt to get it nominated as a feature. However, I can't seem to find any public domain photos and maps. I actually got an answer from Harrison Scott, the gentleman who wrote a book featured on ridgeroute.com and is the webmaster. His hands are tied regarding the release of any images. Please feel free to add any information you feel should be included, and if you happen to stumble across fair use visual aids, that would be wonderful! - Lucky 6.9 18:17, 30 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Yup, the fires passed me by, thank God. My pleasure in my remarks to you. I think it is close to being able to be a feature article. Let me think a bit more on the information additions - I think you have all the essentials, though (high praise, again). I'll add if I can think of anything pertinent not already in the article. Thanks for your kind confidence.

As for photos/maps, I understand where Mr. Scott is standing. Great he responded to you. Ummm. . . thinking aloud. . . I have relatives who could well have photos (historical by now) of RR travel. They would not be easy to find, though. Many may be thrown away by now. You could probably say the same thing. . . Perhaps there is a way I could use a throwaway camera and get its pix put onto a disc. I don't have a digital camera (can't afford it) and I have uploaded pix into an internet site just once - any new procedure is time consuming for me due to my learning disability. What do you think? --avnative 23:50, Jul 30, 2004 (UTC)

  • Love the idea. Uploading files to this site is a cinch. Just sign in, click on the "upload file" link on the left and follow the instructions. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures. I don't know what kind of shape the road's in, but don't feel obligated to take a trip on it if the fires made it dangerous. If you're thinking of doing a trip anyway, I once took some photos with a disposable and had the prints transfered to a CD. They turned out great, and it was only a few dollars more for processing. There are even disposables now that the lab will automatically transfer to CD. - Lucky 6.9 01:07, 31 Jul 2004 (UTC)

OK, I'll see about taking some pix with a disposable camera (hopefully the kind that is more CD-friendly). If I don't get back to you in 2 to 3 weeks from now, give me a holler at my user discussion page, alright? I think the RR is not affected by fire/fire damage at this time. --avnative 01:26, Aug 1, 2004 (UTC)

  • Soundin' good. Those CD disposables have the extra processing charge already added on. Even if you get a regular disposable, you can request a CD anyway. In fact, any 35mm film can be transfered to CD. Good luck! - Lucky 6.9 03:14, 1 Aug 2004 (UTC)

LOL!

Yo, buttbleed? Bwahahahahahaha! RickK`

  • My pleasure to bring a moment of laughter to an otherwise unremarkable weekend. :^P - Lucky 6.9 23:42, 31 Jul 2004 (UTC)

I just wanted to let you know that I removed your speedy delete tag from this page, as it did not seem to fulfill a speedy deletion candidate. You may want to list it on VFD instead. Snowspinner 00:03, Aug 1, 2004 (UTC)

  • OK by me. Will do, and thanks. - Lucky 6.9 00:06, 1 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Judith Chapman

Your friend Judith Chapman was Natalie on As the World Turns? My February 1977 Soap Opera Digest has an article on her. I had no idea that was who your friend was. She's famous...or was at one time. I'll dig out my magazine soon. Mike H 23:20, Aug 2, 2004 (UTC)

  • Yes...that's her! I can never remember the roles she played. Heck, she did a movie with Sandra Bullock and I can't remember which one. Might have been "Miss Congeniality," but don't hold me to that. I saw her about a year and a half ago and she was trying to get back on ATWT. Her mid-80s General Hospital role was Angelina or Angeline, something like that. Thanks for reminding me, since I've promised myself I'd swing by her restaurant. It's just a few minutes from where I work. - Lucky 6.9 23:26, 2 Aug 2004 (UTC)
