Surab (Balochi, and Urdu: سوراب) is the district headquarters of Surab District, which was founded on 1 August 2017, when it was carved out of Kalat District, in Pakistan's Balochistan province.[2]

Surab District is famous for its apple and grape orchards. The largest tribes in Surab District are Reki, Mirwanis, Rodenis, Muhammad Hassni, Harooni, Mullazai, Mardanshahi, Zehris, minor nichari and Mengal. Brahvi is the native language of the locals.

On 30 May 2025, the town was attacked by Balochistan Liberation Army militants who killed a local government official, set his house on fire and looted a bank, in addition to attacking other key locations.[3]
