i missed it. - what's your difference between class, category & set? - an arbitrary designation or historical? tpk (talk) 17:24, 25 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I could have sworn I've heard mention of a category containing categories...

No, but there's a category consisting of all small categories. A category is small if it is built on sets, not classes. --AxelBoldt

Is the military definition of the word actually specific to submarines? -Smack 18:57 30 Jun 2003 (UTC)

  • @Lajmmoore: thank you for an interesting and amusing article. The article is new enough and long enough, it is well sourced and Earwig does not show any copyvio problems. I have checked the online references and removed one quote that appeared to be incorrect. The hook is interesting and short enough and well sourced. I found Scoff: A History of Food and Class in Britain on archive.org and the pages numbers there are 22 for marmalade, 34 for mashed potato and 232 for fish knives. Scoff is not available for borrowing, but I searched for key words and was able to see a few pages. TSventon (talk) 06:30, 5 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
