Important and well known local farmer Allan P. Lewis (b.1941) owner of the farmland along the lower common. Farm is called Maes-y-Berllan. Son of local identity Trevor "the Boss" Lewis.
Pubs
[edit]The description of the two pubs by the canal is no longer correct. The Bridgend Inn is now named The Towpath. Also, The Navigation closed long ago and the building is now in a sort of limbo because of the Heads of the Valleys dualling scheme.
Dead link
[edit]There's a dead link to the OS guide that explains the place name.
