iPhone release[edit]

Should the release of the Apple iPhone be placed under June 29, 2007? I think that it is significant because no other phone has gotten this much hype in all the world.Grammar Watchdog 15:51, 18 October 2007

iPod release date[edit]

Please let me know why you removed my iPod Release Date edit to June 29. That is a revolutionary piece of technology and deserves a place in the annals of Wikipedia. Demigod 23 December 1, 2007

I didn't remove your addition of the release date of the iPhone (which is what I think you meant). The editor at 203.109.245.204 removed it. That is unless you are also editing from the IP address 69.202.36.234 and in that case I did remove it because it was not properly added (it was added in a way that is usually used to slip by non-notable events by putting them on the same line as a notable event). And since that editor's other edits were also not constructive, I had no qualms about removing it. The item has been added about 15 times and it has been removed every time by more than 7 different editors. So clearly there is some honest dispute as to the global notability. Personally, I don't think it should be listed because it does not signify a major human accomplishment or a social milestone - as one removing editor said, "its just a phone". It didn't change the way the world thinks about something. In ten years it will no longer be notable. Another important factor in the removals is likely that most times it has been added simply as Apple iPhone is released in the US. OK, so what. This says nothing to help the casual reader understand why it should be there. Did it break a major global record? If it did, will the record reasonably be broken soon? If so, it shouldn't be there because it represents a fad. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 23:13, 1 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. My mistake. I did mean the iPhone. :-)Grammar Watchdog 03:22, 2 December 2007 (UTC)Demigod 23[reply]

Ratatouille (film)[edit]

Should this be added to the June 29th article? It won best animated movie in the Oscar's. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Juthani1 (talkcontribs) 00:10, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 01:03, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cut reference to recent death Of Travalena as occurring on the 29th, to match with man's article, and his death entry on the 28th. CNN reports that he died on the 28th, but reported on it the following day, probably explaining the mixup. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.227.154.50 (talk) 17:55, 29 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Mikhail Baryshnikov[edit]

I’ve done a minor edit to the entry for Baryshnikov’s defection: as the Wikipedia entry for the man lists him as having defecting whilst touring with the Kirov
