Miss America[edit]

Day uncertain (may be Sept 6, 7 or 8th for crowning but I could not find the day that the pageant started)

Rwanda[edit]

Entry in here twice: 1988 and 1998 --> A United Nations court finds Jean-Paul Akayesu, the former mayor of a small town in Rwanda, guilty of nine counts of genocide, marking the first time that the 1948 law banning genocide is enforced

I assume it has to be 1998, but would like to ask someone else to make the final decision.

thanks, deadstar

Chianese[edit]

Dominic Chianese birthday entry incorrect, commented out. 2/24/31, not 9/2/34 despite what The Sopranos website says. JohnH

WW1[edit]

1916: 16 German zepplins bombed London, killing 93 people and injuring 691. Could someone care to put this in?

Zeppelin[edit]

1925 - The U.S. Zeppelin the USS Shenandoah crashes, killing 14. <-- It crashed on September 3, not September 2 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.180.175.30 (talk) 21:26, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Google Chrome[edit]

Google chrome was released on 2nd of september, and even google refers to 2nd of september as the birthdate of google chrome: http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2010/09/back-to-future-two-years-of-google.html is it worth adding to the list? (Kinda new to wiki sorry if I'm doing anything wrong) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.8.2.157 (talk) 12:49, 4 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Madden Social[edit]

I play Madden NFL Social which will be retired this day of this year.112.209.82.244 (talk) 14:34, 17 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

First, it's a future event and future events never get added under any circumstances. Second, it isn't a notable event per WP:DOY and it shouldn't be included. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 14:58, 17 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Simeon Stylites[edit]

The death of Simeon Stylites is mentioned here, but, he is listed as simply "Turkish saint". This is misleading, since he was not descended from the Turkic people who were not even in the area at this time, nor was he from a place called Turkey. I changed it to state a piller-hermit (with a link to stylites) and saint. but, since it seems it is practice to give some indication as to the country a person was from, I think I should add Byzantine, or Roman. The problem is, Roman could confuse people that he was from Rome. Another problem is the person above Stylites is a Roman emperor who also died a few years earlier, so it would look silly to list a Roman emperor and then a Byzantine saint. So perhaps to list him as Eastern Roman? But I will just put Byzantine for now, if anyone has a better idea then shoot.75.73.114.111 (talk) 19:01, 2 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ivan Mauger[edit]

I have again inserted Ivan Maugers achievement as being a significant event. He is the only person to have won six Individual Speedway World Championship Finals. He did this when the whole of the planet could qualify for such an event, it was a true World Championship. In 1995 the International Speedway Organisation (FIM) dropped the one night final for an elite GP championship, which is like F1 and is not a genuine world championship. So as it stands Ivan Mauger possibly will retain this title indefinitely. I do feel this event worthy of an entry. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Darmech (talkcontribs) 02:01, 12 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Victory over Japan day[edit]

read the article, this does not seem to be a holiday or observance so much as an historical event. suggest removal. --Richardson mcphillips (talk) 19:41, 2 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

national blueberry popsicle day[edit]

the whole "national food days list" seems to be a group corporate promotion. suggest deletion. --Richardson mcphillips (talk) 19:42, 2 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Under Events, the entry "Operation OAU begins during the Nigerian Civil War" needs a period at the end. 98.210.124.96 (talk) 19:49, 2 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Thank you for pointing that out. Next time, please provide more precise information (a year) so that I can find what you are talking about. Regards, Willbb234Talk (please {{ping}} me in replies) 20:18, 2 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

2001 – The adult-oriented television block Adult Swim debuts on Cartoon Network.
The cite tag is malformed. Presumably this is merely a type, but title=The History Of Cartoon Network's Adult Swim should be added /fixed.130.233.2.170 (talk) 08:36, 2 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Has been removed as not being a significant event. – Thjarkur (talk) 21:09, 2 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
