Castero Biography
The summer of 2006 and a collection of monotonous lifestyles drifts drearily day to day, through a time led journey from the cradle to the grave, silly jobs and a simplified living, in an effort to earn, pay the next bill and work for the man and who’s in control, an existence that’s all too common, to end the same and be forgotten, … but then a spark;
a yearning to escape, and find a route to unleash their rage, shout out to their peers and tell them they are free, to listen to their music and blare their powerful words that rock, and fill the air with the freedom to express their anger, their beliefs, their hopes and their dreams, a freedom to stand proudly upon a stage and announce to the world, CASTERO.
CASTERO was founded by four rock brothers, who grew up with their own individualistic ears for the sound of HEAVY METAL resounding through their lives, and this familiar fondness for the THUNDER of ROCK GODS brought these four metallists together to give birth to their very own brand of Metal Heaven in June of 2006.
This convene of HARD-CORE ROCKERS consist of Johnny Mac – Guitar/Vocals, Philly Brett – Bass/Backing Vocals, André Foley – Guitar/Backing Vocals and Spanner – Drums with Absolute Madness thrown in, a expression of living life the way they want to, playing the music they feel free to, and releasing to the public their popular talents.
Their following grows stronger, their releases become ever hunted with their music heard on many radio stations, Phantom and DCFM, with gigs from Eamon Doran’s and Pine Lodge Cork, throughout the countryside, AN ORCHESTRA of ROCK, there was their E.P. titled JAPS, where they would ‘WORSHIP OUR DEAD’, ‘TILL THE END’, which was a true sense of ‘A TASTE OF THINGS TO COME;’
That was in 2007 when the mob heard the first recorded releases from this new four-piece ROCK/METAL BAND from Nenagh, County Tipperary, … and the crowd loved it, and cried out for more, … and so CASTERO didn’t disappoint, and followed up soon after with the release of their second E.P., one that is known as ‘THE HUNTED DEMO’ and which had tracks on its playlist such as the title track, along with ‘POINT YOUR FINGER’, a number which has become an anthem amongst the bands legions of fans.
To 2008 and the band goes from strength to strength, more gigs, more airplay, more dedication and a new release, ‘INFILTRATION REMEDIATION’ is ready too take its listeners and an increasing fan-base on a journey with the group, to explore the realm of rock and blaring it out from their Living Rooms, Bedrooms, Stereo Speakers, so crack it up to 11, let the volume blast the walls down and let CASTERO rock your world … yet again!
