[edit]Currently, I am a college student and hoping to earn a career in art and/or technology. As for hobbies, I like to indulge myself in a variety of them. For instance, I like to listen to music and collect the albums of artist that I really like. Listening to music can increase levels of dopamine in the brain and therefore improve one's mood and work performance.[1] I spend my free time watching movies or tv shows on Netflix or random videos on YouTube. I also like to read books, not only novels but I also enjoy reading online comics or webtoons. My favorite type of books are ones that keep me entertained and interested throughout and involve topics or characters that I can relate to.
My Wikipedia Interests
[edit]I've been using Wikipedia since high school and it has served as an essential tool when it comes to research and writing assignments. If I were to use Wikipedia more actively in the future, I would probably use it as a tool to gain further insight on certain things or people that I would like to know more about. If I come across a place, event or person that has peaked my interest, Wikipedia may most likely be the first place I would go to to learn more information about them. What I may accomplish as a volunteer on Wikipedia is that if I were to come across an article that barely has any information on it, I would like to do more research in order to add a bit more information and content to the article.
Article Evaluation
[edit]For this article evaluation, I decided to look up a favorite singer of mine who goes by the name, NIKI. I visited the "Niki (singer)" article on Wikipedia and found three aspects worth commenting on: neutrality of the article, the age of the article and the completeness of the article.
Neutrality of Article
[edit]The neutrality of the article doesn’t seem to be too biased. The article is written solely based on facts, such as her background information, musical inspiration, and how she started her career to what she is currently doing in her career. There seems to be no biased claims or language within the sources of the article.
Age of Article
[edit]On the very bottom of the page, I saw that the article page was last updated on May 9th of this year. Even though the page was edited within this current year, I feel like there should have been more information added. The discography of the singer is also a bit lacking. I checked her discography on Spotify to see if it matched with the discography stated on this article and not all of her songs are listed. The singer came out with a new single last month, but that single has not been added to the discography, as well as other collaborative songs that she has featured on with other artists.
Completeness of Article
[edit]The article has a decent amount of information about the singer. This may be because the singer is just starting out in her career that there isn’t a lot of information about her just yet. I think the article could feel more complete if there were more pictures of the singer, but there aren’t any pictures of the singer. For instance, the article mentions the singer going on various tours, so pictures of the singer on tour would make the article seem more complete.
