||Additions I may want to consider: Add a music sample of "Chop Suey" by System of a Down. Then add a section talking about the group's current projects/separate music.||

Band Members' Current Projects (2016-2019)

[edit]

After the group's hiatus took place in 2006, Tankian went on to create his own works with his debuting album "Elect The Dead" published in 2007[1]. Unlike his previous work, he takes on a different genre of music for each album/ep/song release.

Similar to Tankian's actions, after the group's undetermined hiatus, Malakian created Daron Malakian and Scars On Broadway. Daron Malakian and other band member John Dolmayan teamed up in order to create the project band's debut self titled album, "Scars on Broadway" in 2008[2]. The band follows more closely to SOAD's metal genre along with some inspiration from other metal/rock genres.

John Dolmayan

[edit]

Dolmayan soon took inspiration from the other members and decided to publish his own work in 2020 with debuting album, "These Grey Men."[3]

Genocidal Humanoidz/Protect The Land (present)

[edit]

On November 6th. 2020, System of a Down released two new singles, "Genocidal Humanoidz" and "Protect The Land."[4] Up until this point, the band had not released music as a group since 2005. Since this fifteen year hiatus has been broken, there can be more opportunity for new releases. The two songs mentioned before were published in order to raise funds for the Armenia Azerbaijin conflict in favor of Armenia. As of now, System of a Down states that all profit earned from the making of these two songs, will be donated to the organization called "Armenia Fund."
