Strong Automotive is an advertising agency based in Birmingham, Alabama, that provides marketing services primarily for the automotive industry.
History
[edit]The agency was established in 1977 by Mike Strong under the name Mike Strong Advertising. It initially focused on retail marketing for car dealerships in the Southeastern United States.[1]
In 2004, John Paul Strong, the founder's son, assumed leadership of the company. During his tenure, the agency expanded its range of services and extended its client base nationally. By that time, the company had grown from 8 employees and 12 clients to more than 165 full-time employees, serving over 400 dealership clients across the United States.[citation needed]
In October 2023, the company changed its name from Strong Automotive Merchandising to Strong Automotive. The rebranding was intended to reflect a broader strategic emphasis on innovation, data science, and omnichannel media strategies in automotive marketing.[citation needed]
