German Michael Torres was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles, California, in the city of North Hollywood. He sometimes goes by the name GMT for sort. GMT created, developed, and produced a variety of Television Series, Feature Films, and Short Form media including Sci-Fi Channel’s award nominated series The Chronicle with writer Silvio Horta and #1 iFilms comedy, Conservative Eye for the Liberal Guy. Other titles he created or co-wrote include Hudson Street with writers Amy Ephron and Lucy Dahl for Friends producer Kevin Bright and Warner Bros. TV, The Tenth Power with Blair Witch Project filmmaker Ben Rock, and children’s reality show Chiller’s Castle for producer and actor Henry Winkler among others. He is the creator of the half hour comedy Girl Crazy, based on his own life situation for Marc Rosen and CBS-Paramount Studios.

While working at ICM as an agent trainee, German Michael Torres with a fellow colleague optioned a series of books called News From The Edge found a local book store in Sherman Oaks, California. They wrote a television treatment and attached new writer Silvio Horta who German Michael met for lunch and became friends. After three months of pushing the project through at International Creative Management Agency, the show was sold to NBC and then became a series at the Sci-Fi channel. German Michael Torres went on to create and set up other Television projects with A-list literary talent. He was hired by Silverlight Television to develop hour and half hour programming with a Latino twist for Warner Bros. Television. In 2000, a Latin political organization tried to shut down Silverlight's production deal with Warner Bros. because of racial inequalities. German Michael Torres found the organization's actions culturally hurtful and damaging and in response created Professional Latinos In Entertainment (PLIE), an all inclusive organization that supports Latinos in the entertainment and promotes diversity. The organization www.prolatinos.org has successfully nurtured and opened doors for talented Latinos who are now working professionally within their discipline.

GMT works with a management and production company representing literary talent and heading development. The company's clients have writing or directed on such show as True Blood, Big Love, ER, Fringe, Ugly Betty and other primetime television programs.

German Michael Torres studied at California State University, Northridge and Ashford University and holds a B.A. in Psychology. He is a member of Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and the Producers Guild of America. He continues to develop and produce for the management company and independently.
