Stanford Merthyr railway station was a regional railway station located on the Stanford Merthyr line, serving the Hunter Valley town of Kurri Kurri as well as the small hamlet of Stanford Merthyr. From 1922, it was officially known as Kurri Kurri railway station.

History

The station was opened in 1902 as Stanford Merthyr. On 2 April 1922 it was renamed Kurri Kurri. It was closed in March 1929 due to disputes over coalfields, with the service between West Maitland railway station and Kurri Kurri replaced by a bus service. Rail services never returned, and the line was abandoned.

Heddon railway station

Heddon railway station was a regional railway station located on the Stanford Merthyr line, serving the Hunter Valley town of Heddon Greta.

History

Heddon station opened in 1902 as Kurri Road, and was renamed Heddon on 2 April 1922. It was closed in 1929 due to disputes over coalfields. It was also referred to as Heddon Greta, but was not officially named this.
