hi it's me jay, mostly I fix linkrot

loosely organised projects

[edit]

I have a long term interest in internet archiving, and this has extended to my research at the Squirrel Ridge Observatory Centre. Linkrot, particularly when a domain is usurped with malevolent intent, is a threat to information and to security.

Squirrel Ridge is focused on Ontario, Canada, where our observatory is based.

waynecook (rotten waynecook.com)

[edit]

Cook's delightful Geocities epic succumbed to linkrot after his death in the late 2010s. Soon thereafter, likely due to the combination of no https:// and high citation rate to his static-site understructured text pages, the url was usurped. I do not recommend clicking any live links to waynecook.com for that reason.

Here's a list of articles within which I have eliminated outlinks and improved Cook's citation. Where it was not assigned a ref name, it has been tagged name=waynecook. Stylistically, I attribute authorship to Cook, Wayne and often include a plaque number with page= or sometimes even a full quote=. Presented in ascending edit order.
