Introduction: Jay Carter

On the 30th of July 1984, José Junior a.k.a 'Jay' was born. His dad, José Sr., was a well known African business man. His fathers business sense must have caught on to him because at a very young age Jay showed that he had what it took to become a great entrepreneur.

Challenge

Never one to be scared of challenge, he was allready involved in many business ventures at the age of 15. Be a go-getter and never settle for less than the best is his motto. Sky is the limit. His unconditional love for the urban scene, and mostly Hip- Hop, got him plotting out a strategy to get in 'the game' regardless.

Radio

He first started out doing some radio hosting on the Kalwest Radio at the age of 16. Working at a radio station offered many advantages, including FREE studio time, where Jay perfected his rapping skills. Rapping over many of DJ SONNs mixtapes and doing a variety of talents shows around his hometown.

Production

Tired of borrowing instrumentals from established artists, Jay wanted his music to reflect who HE really is, so he took the production side of his music upon himself. Being a producer he got a chance to bond with his neighbourhood production heroes Pegguy Tabu and Asaiah L. Wala. But in a small country like Belgium with a small urban scene it was hard for him to seriously pursue a rap career and be able to provide for his family, so once again Jay had to plot another plan to 'get it'.

Clothing

As his mother once told him: Only Fools Don't Change Their Minds!!! He followed that advice at the tender age of 18, when he realized there was a gap in the streetwear business. So he decided to create his own clothing line, called Parkswear ( In Honor of Rosa Parks, R.I.P). That clothing line was a pivotal moment in his life. He had the slick idea to use the, at that time, DJ supercrew MP FAMILY as his posterboys. His line included T-shirts, hats and shirts, all paid by his own pockets. Being able to connect with people easily, it was in no time that he had his rolodex full of people wanting to work with him. Having sold-out his WHOLE stock in less than 3 months, the brand looked promising...

Management

After a trip to his beloved town ATLANTA, GA, he met two local singers fiending for some beats, so he took up where he left off and started working on his production game again, and sold his beats to independent artists in Atlanta. Constantly grinding and creating connections, Asaiah, one of the guys he always looked up to called him to offer him a job as the official VP of A&R of Hot-Trak Music Group. It was an offer he couldn't refuse. Since 2007 they've been working together on various projects ( currently Kimberley Gibbs) with the same hunger and objective to one day prove to the world that constant grind and staying true to what you believe in, will get you there!!!

Future

Right now he's working on his official website: www.jaycarter-group.com. Where it will be possible to book various artist for many events.
