Mark was born in Cork,Ireland At 17 he moved to Los Angeles to Study at The Musicians Institute Upon his return he performed with many of the leading musicians on the Irish Jazz scene. He has performed in duo with three of the leading pianists in contemporary jazz,Paul Bley,Bobo Stenson and Kenny Werner. He has also played with drummers Jack DeJohnette,Peter Erskine, Joey Baron,Aldo Romano,Jon Christensen,Kenny Wollesen,Bobby Previtte,Dylan Van Der Schyff,Matt Wilson,Michael Sarin,Tom Rainey,Bill Bruford,Adam Nussbaum, Auden Kleive,Anders Kjellberg and Steve Arguelles. He has played with trumpeters Tomas Stanko,Kenny Wheeler and Cuong Vu.He has also recorded in a quartet called Vespers with trumpeters John Fumo and Jeff Kaiser he has worked with Sound Artist Gunter Muller, Scandanavian folk musicians Nils Okland and Mats Eden. He has played with Bassists Michael Formanek,Palle Danielsson, Henri Texier,Anders Jormin,Arild Andersen,Eberhard Weber, Lars Danielsson,Hein Van De Geyn,Terje Gewelt,Michael Manring he has also played with percussionists Alex Cline,zev,Hans Kristian Kjos Sorensen and Terje Isungset. He was invited to toured as a memner of Paul Bleys trio. He has released 5 cds on Leo records; Self Luminous with Mat Maneri and Randy Peterson Chamber trio with Maneri and Matthew Shipp Levitation with Tomasz Stanko and Billy Hart Closure with Uri Caine and Ben Perowsky Awakening with Steve Swallow and Pierre Favre Self Luminous and chamber trio both received 4 stars from downbeat magazine.
