NXT

Tony would sign with NXT and WWE during the spring of 2020, adopting the name Tony AKC, defeating Tony Nese on the pre-show of NXT TakeOver - In Your House. Tony would then embark on a winning streak, defeating opponents such as Gentleman Jack Gallagher, Santos Escobar, and Austin Theory. Tony would be unsuccessful in winning a #1 Contender's Battle Royal for the NXT North American Championship, as the match would be won by Isaiah "Swerve" Scott. Tony would then be defeated by Pete Dunne at NXT TakeOver 30 in August. Tony would then enter a feud with Johnny Gargano, earning an upset over him on an episode of NXT, only to be defeated in another match a few weeks later. Tony would be unsuccessful in winning the North American Title in a Fatal-4 Way Match at NXT Take Over - War Games in December, being pinned by Johnny Gargano in a match that also included Leon Ruff and Damian Priest. Tony would then team up with Kushida and would enter the 2021 Dusty Rhodes' Tag Team Classic Tournament, being eliminated in the first round. Tony would then enter a Gauntlet Eliminator on Night 1 of NXT TakeOver - Stand and Deliver to determine the #1 Contender for the North American Title, ultimately being unsuccessful. This would be his last match and appearance in NXT, as he would be released from his WWE contract the following week due to budget cuts.

AEW

Early storylines (2021)

Tony would then adopt the new name of Tony Quinn, signing with AEW, debuting at the Road Rager episode of Dynamite with a victory over Brandon Cutler. He would then be ambushed by The Elite following the match, establishing himself as a face. Tony would then form an alliance with Christian Cage, Jurassic Express, and Bryan Danielson, trying to challenge The Elite at any given time. Tony in a later interview, expressed how grateful he was because of how Brayn Danielson and Christian Cage helped shape his career. Tony would then begin pursuing the TNT Championship currently held by Miro, being defeated on two occasions.
