Option 1

[edit]
Article title
Linguistic relativity
Article Evaluation
Article explains the concept of linguistic relativity in sufficient detail in most parts but could use elaboration in some of the specific subcategories; uses a well developed chronology of the development of the hypotheses of linguistic relativity through the years and how linguists have viewed the theory that language shapes thought; multiple sources already cited in this article which deals with a lot of content but also has a lot of direct ties to readings and areas of study of our course from which to pull; this article has the most content to work through for improvements but has also been worked on the most thoroughly of the options
Sources

Option 2

[edit]
Article title
Theoretical linguistics
Article Evaluation
Decent basic outline of the field but is missing citations and elaboration on the exploration of UG and its contrasting beliefs among linguists, as well as further examples of language's connection to cognitive processes; needs more sources and subsections to further the article's coverage of the topic; creation of new subsections could provide more cross-links to other articles related to the topic of theoretical linguistics; article is rather underdeveloped and lacking multiple views and thus provides lots of areas to add new content but with less structure present to work with
Sources
Chomsky's reflection
Evans and Levinson-The myth of language universals

Option 3

[edit]
Article title
Prototype theory
Article Evaluation
Introduction and overview of topic could be elaborated to fit a larger scope of the topic; multiple citations needed to strengthen validity of statements made on the topic throughout the article; article does pull from multiple sources and has a decent amount of coverage of the topic and finds itself in the middle of the 3 options by providing a clearer structure to work with while also leaving space for additional content to be added on the topic
Sources

Putnam-Is semantics possible?

Option 4

[edit]
Article title
Linguistic universal
Article Evaluation
Article provides small amount of coverage of the topic but does appear to use multiple references; could use elaboration on the concepts of linguistic universals through the addition of more sources and discussion of the various angles of the topic by linguists; definitely could use additional subsections such as one discussing the opposing views of the existence of linguistic universals and the relatively broad connections they draw between languages
Sources
Chomsky reflection
Evans and Levinson
