Black Veil Brides officially started in October of 2006 with myself, Nate Shipp, Chris Riesenberg, Johnny Herold, and Phil Cenedella. We'd set out to kinda make a band that could be a cross between Motley Crue and the Misfits. We knew, going into it, that that would, you know, a lotta people would like it, but then again, a lotta people would kinda get on our case, because of the way we dressed, and how over-the-top the music and the lyrics and everything was, but our attempt was almost to bring about a hair metal or hair punk that could be centered in reality and had lyrics that not only were fun party lyrics, but actually meant something to us. By April of 2007, Chris and Phil had left Black Veil Brides. In their place came bass player Bobby Thomas and drummer Mike Stamper. Soon thereafter came new rhythm guitarist Mark Singleton. With this new lineup

Origins
[edit]Black Veil Brides was founded in 2006 using the name Biersack with members Andy Biersack (lead vocals), Johnny Herold (guitar), and Phil Cenedella (bass) in Delhi, Ohio. They were soon contacted via MySpace by Nate Shipp (guitar) and Chris Riesenberg (drums). They started gaining recognition for the song "Knives and Pens". The music video has gained 34,187,366 views over YouTube.[8]
In late November 2009, David "Pan" Burton left the group due to differences in direction and clashes between members. Shortly after his departure he began the project House of Glass with previous Black Veil Brides guitarist, Chris "Hollywood" Bluser. Demos were posted on Myspace, with lyrics written by Biersack. Black Veil Brides responded, saying that the demos were from their upcoming debut album and that Pan had recorded his vocals over them. Pan claimed he'd written the songs before joining the band and that these demos were the way the songs were originally intended to be. Due to these demos being released before We Stitch These Wounds, the band changed the titles of the songs "Funeral in Flames" to "Beautiful Remains" and "Alive and Burning" to "All Your Hate". However, "Sweet Blasphemy" remained the same.

[edit]Official explanation: [9]
Original discussion here: [10]
The Elysian Grandeval Galèriarch means: Elysian- relating to or characteristic of heaven or paradise. Grandeval- very old, ancient. An Old English term meaning "ancient". Galèriarch- essentially a portmanteau of "les galères" or "galère" (meaning galley slavery or something of that nature) and the suffix "-arch" (meaning leader). Leader of slaves.
I.e., "The Holy Ancient Leader of Slaves."
Galere definition (actually means "group of undesirables" or "unpleasant situation": [11]

Infant Annihilator are an English deathcore band based in Hull, East Yorkshire. The band was formed in 2012 by drummer Aaron Kitcher and guitarist Eddie Pickard. They are known for their technical, eclectic style; graphic content/shock humour;[14] and music videos containing black and blue comedy.[15][16] The band's current lineup comprises founding members Kitcher and Pickard, and vocalist Dickie Allen. Infant Annihilator have released two studio albums. Their latest album, The Elysian Grandeval Galèriarch, was released 29 July 2016.
Although Kitcher and Pickard are based in England, Allen—as well as ex-vocalist Dan Watson—resides in the US, making Infant Annihilator an internet band.[11][15] The name "Infant Annihilator" came from a song bearing the same title that was composed by Kitcher's previous band As the Blessed Fall, and was chosen as a parody of death metal band name stereotypes.[13][17] In a 2016 interview, they explained "We wanted the song names and band name to be as completely over-the-top as our music..."[13]
History
[edit]Formation and The Palpable Leprosy of Pollution (2012–2014)
[edit]Infant Annihilator were formed in 2012 when friends Eddie Pickard and Aaron Kitcher acquired new music editing software and decided to begin writing with the goal of "mak[ing] the most silly intense music possible". Within 1–2 weeks, they had finished writing, recording, and editing all of the instrumental tracks for their debut album The Palpable Leprosy of Pollution. After releasing some of these tracks to the public, they were soon discovered by US vocalist Dan Watson. Watson found Infant Annihilator via the metal promotion website Total Deathcore, messaged the band, and was auditioned with an instrumental copy of their song "Decapitation Fornication". After hearing Watson's take on the song, they asked him to do vocals for the entire album. Because Watson is from the US, they collaborated online, with Watson writing all of the lyrics and recording vocals during work lunch breaks.[12][13] They soon began garnering viral popularity online with the release of the music video for their song "Decapitation Fornication" (with 6.8 million views as of 2018).[15][18]
Their debut album The Palpable Leprosy of Pollution was released 12 December 2012.
Vocalist change and The Elysian Grandeval Galèriarch (2014–present)
[edit]Watson left Infant Annihilator late 2013/early 2014 and officially announced his departure from the band via Facebook 22 February 2014.[19][20] Nearly two years later, Watson explained on his Facebook page that he left the band because he did not feel like an equal, and that his distance from the band—Watson being in the US and Infant Annihilator being in the UK—contributed to this feeling of separation.[21]
In late 2014, while he was drumming for fellow UK band Desolated during their first US tour, Kitcher met vocalist Dickie Allen. The tour line-up included the band Traitors, who had brought Allen, a close friend, along with them on the tour. Hearing Allen's vocals in person convinced Kitcher that he was a good fit for the band.[13][22][23] Infant Annihilator announced via social media on 1 June 2016 that they had brought on Dickie Allen as their new vocalist [24][25]
Album leak and release
[edit]Their second album was leaked approximately five days prior to its official release date, prompting Infant Annihilator to choose to upload the official album stream to YouTube four days early.[26]
Infant Annihilator's sophomore album The Elysian Grandeval Galèriarch was officially released 29 July 2016.
Album reception
[edit]The Elysian Grandeval Galèriarch was Infant Annihilator's first album to chart, making it onto several Billboard charts, including the Top Heatseekers, Independent Albums, Top Album Sales, Top Rock Albums, and Top Hard Rock Albums charts.

Musical style and influences
[edit]Infant Annihilator have been described as deathcore, technical deathcore,[10][15][27][28] slam death metal,[10][17][27][28] technical death metal,[13] and brutal death metal.[10] Their lyrics are very graphic and cover topics such as paedophilia, murder, "mass programming", religion/cult[13], and the Catholic Church.[11] These topics are derived from the history of sexual abuse in the Catholic Church.[11][15] Their music has been deemed "too offensive" and was removed from Spotify and iTunes as a result,[29][30] but was soon returned to both platforms three days later.[30]
Their influences include Despised Icon, The Black Dahlia Murder, Beneath the Massacre,[17] Cattle Decapitation, Waking the Cadaver, and GG Allin.[23]
