227711 Dailyminorplanet it's an asteroid of the outer asteroid belt discovered on 27 February 2006, by Catalina Sky Survey (703) at the Catalina Station in Arizona [4].

Name

[edit]

This minor planet was named after the reviewers of the project The Daily Minor Planet (TDMP): this project was developed by the Catalina Sky Survey and hosted on the Zooniverse science platform. This project has allowed thousands of volunteers to discover numerous asteroids from archival images acquired from Mount Lemmon Survey (G96). The name was chosen among many others by the reviewers of the project. The official citation was published by the Minor Planet Center in April 2025 [5].

Orbit

[edit]

227711 Dailyminorplanet orbits the Sun at a distance of 2.44-3.76  AU once every 66 months (1991 days; semi-major axis of 3.10 AU). Its orbit has an eccentricity of 0.21 and an inclination of 17° with respect to the ecliptic. Its orbit it's entirely between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter.

Physical parameters

[edit]

According to several observations the diameter of 227711 Dailyminorplanet measures of around 7.5 km and has an albedo of 0,022.
