[edit]Cockatiels are very special creaures. These (beautiful) birds make a great companion for any pet bird lover. Here I will guide you on taking care of your new friend. If you so shall choose to get one. Cockatiels can be a very loving pet as long as you give him/her respect. Pet cockatiels are similar to humans and they need to be nourished. Can you live on just seeds??? No. . . Cockatiels will become malnourished without their proper fruits and vegetables. Sadly, a year or two ago I tragically lost my parakeet from this mistake. Give them a share of what you have on your plate, BUT BE WARNED! some foods like avacados are deathly poisonous. Be careful about sweets and NEVER give them chocolate, for this is also poisonous.
