Goldfinger Limited

[edit]

Hey, I noticed that you recently blocked, and then unblocked, Goldfinger Limited. I reckon they're a sock of someone I blocked 2-3 weeks ago, so I've gone ahead and blocked them again. It now occurs to me that it would have been good manners to let you know before I did that, but hopefully better late than not at all? Best, -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 12:40, 12 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@DoubleGrazing No problem, my assessment was based purely on username, looks like you made the right call. --Ahecht (TALK

IP user

[edit]

The IP user who you blocked back in December who threatened me on my talk page has threatened me again. Would you be able to delete their contributions? Luigitehplumber (talk) 20:17, 18 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Articles for Creation backlog drive

[edit]

Hello Ahecht:

WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive in June!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than 1 month of outstanding reviews from the current 3+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 June 2025 through 30 June 2025.

You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.

Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.
There is a backlog of over 3200 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:25, 20 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Forgot to tag Susman77 socks

[edit]

Please tag User:Saturnium119, User:Waluigi1737, User:MrRooster23, User:Ice cream truck boy, User:Americanman231, User:Greatest goat, and User:Phamy1 as socks of Susman77. These accounts share the exact same behavior as the other socks you tagged on the 19th. Leonidlednev has an LTA page for this user on Meta. Do you think it’s useful to make an LTA page here? If so, please provide as much information on this LTA’s modus operandi. I’ve been monitoring this vandal after Hydrogen88 vandalized Africa by adding 1,835,596 bytes of profanity. All I know is that this LTA is based in The Woodlands, Texas, based on their IP location. 2600:100C:B05E:DD9A:E522:B53E:A047:CE2E (talk) 18:30, 21 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. Since Saturnium119 appears to be the oldest account, I moved the other socks to that name. --Ahecht (TALK

And this LTA has an account called Madisyn Oglesby. Do you think this vandal is a male or female? I feel like this vandal is more likely a male because he vandalizes on a 540 hz monitor. 2600:100C:B05E:DD9A:91F4:66E3:5A18:5133 (talk) 15:33, 22 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Somehow we broke Template:Sfnp/test 2 -- that should have multiple target errors, and now it doesn't. — hike395 (talk) 10:13, 24 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Hike395 I'm seeing multiple targets (2×): CITEREFBlotkamp1982 in mw.config.get("wgPageParseReport").scribunto["limitreport-logs"] on that page. Did you fix it after you sent your message? --Ahecht (TALK

2 more Saturnium119

[edit]

User:Kryptonite121 and User:MinecraftGamer55 share the same behavior as Satirnium119. Although MinecraftGamer55 was blanking pages, he triggered the filter log on Africa by adding millions of bytes of the same capitalized slur. This tells me that this is Saturnium119. Please tag these socks. Do you think it’s useful to make an LTA case as this user has 33 sock puppets? 139.28.86.8 (talk) 21:36, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to open an LTA case go ahead, but I'm fine sticking with SPI for now. --Ahecht (TALK

PEIS Errors

[edit]

Some of your recent edits on articles to help reduce post-expand include size (transclusions for 2025 FIFA Club World Cup qualification have not worked. There are various scripting errors now on the Brackets, e.g. Script error: The function "16TeamBracket-Info" does not exist.

Can you please have another look? Perhaps #invoke:bracket doesn't work the way some of the other types (e.g. #invoke:flag) work. Matilda Maniac (talk) 15:25, 2 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Matilda Maniac I'm working on updating Module:bracket to support those "-info" templates. --Ahecht (TALK

Individual member date

[edit]

Hi @Ahecht, I had another look at the "individual members date" issue on Module:European and national party data/sandbox. I think the call that I test here is met by line 341 of the module, which then calls the xlate_wikidata function, which you had modified. In particular, this seems to fall under the following condition: if qualifier_id and '' ~= value_of_qualifier then of line 175. Does that help in figuring out what is wrong? Julius Schwarz (talk) 13:54, 3 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Julius Schwarz I replied at Module talk:European and national party data § Individual members date. --Ahecht (TALK

Destructive Editing on 2021 New York City Council election

[edit]

Warning icon You have engaged in destructive editing on the 2021 New York City Council election page by deleting numerous maps. These maps are allowed on Wikipedia per common precedent of maps in infoboxes on Wikipedia election pages. Continued deletion of maps on this page or other election related pages is in violation of WP:DIS and will result in me getting admins involved. Orca (talk) 17:45, 3 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Orca While I appreciate your efforts to update that article and to improve map data on Wikipedia, there are unfortunately technical limitations to how much content can be included on pages from templates (see WP:PEIS). Each one of your infoboxes adds approximately 0.1MB-0.3MB to the post-expand include size, so it would only take adding them to a handful of districts until the 2MB limit is reached just from infoboxes (ignoring the 1.4MB of citations and charts already on the page). Once the limit is reached, templates are no longer processed on the page, meaning that citations will no longer appear (which is a violation of WP:V), and eventually whole sections of that article will fail to display properly. Please do not re-add these templates without checking to see if the entire page displays properly.
I would also like to point you to WP:BRD. You made a BOLD edit, adding massive amounts of content to a page on a city-level election, I REVERTED that edit since it was preventing the page from displaying properly, and the next step is to DISCUSS, not to edit war. --Ahecht (TALK

Great, then don't revert my edits until a solution is reached. Your solution is to remove all the content I created instead of turning it into a different format, which is completely ridiculous. Either come up with a better way to display the data or it stands as is on the page. I'm reverting your reversion again, do not revert it back until a solution has been agreed upon. Orca (talk) 18:20, 3 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Orca Please read WP:BRD. The next step after a bold edit, if an editor disagrees and cannot immediately refine it, is to revert. In this case, the page was displaying correctly before your edits, so I have reverted it to the last good revision where it still displayed correctly in its entirely. Do not restore any edits where the page is not correctly displaying citations. If you wish to experiment, you can do so in your sandbox. --Ahecht (TALK

18:25, 3 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Move this discussion to the talk page. Limit has not been reached yet, and the content on the page is still being displayed correctly. Orca (talk) 18:27, 3 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Orca The WP:PEIS limit has been far exceeded, and the last 157 citations are not displaying: File:2021 New York City Council election 1293793548.png. Since you are well aware that the page is broken, please restore a version where all citations properly display or your edits could be considered disruptive. --Ahecht (TALK

18:44, 3 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Again, move this discussion to the talk page. I was not aware of this and didn't notice the missing citations. I give you permission to revert my reversion. Orca (talk) 18:46, 3 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
